Old School Figure: Otonashi Kyoko

I have some "old school" figures that I got years ago. This is Tsukuda Hobby's Kyoko Otonashi, from Maison Ikkoku. I got her at Anime Central back in 1998! I remember they also had a Lum in the same series. Like Saber, Kyoko is eagerly awaiting the arival of spring weather. She is ready to start sweeping with her broom!

I remember once, maybe about a year after I got this, some non-anime-fan guy saw her and expressed surprise that she had a broom. I guess he thought that all anime characters were girls with guns or swords, so it must have been inconcievable to have one with just a broom and no magical or sci-fi (or ero) associations!

Bringing this figure outside reminds me of how long my anime backlog is--I got all of Viz's DVDs of MI, but I still have to find time to watch it all. Maybe I should blog about classic shows like MI?
